Holy Tools, Batman!

It's time for another tool! Day 8 of the 12 Tools of Christmas brings us the partner to Day 7's socket set. Like Batman and Robin, you really need both!
Our last tool was the socket set, which is invaluable for home maintenance. But, right along with the sockets, you also really should have a crescent wrench. The socket set is easier and more versatile to use in nut and bolt projects, however if there is a nut on both ends, which is very common, then an additional wrench is needed for stability. Otherwise you will be literally spinning your wheels!
Stanley Crescent Wrench - This wrench is fantastic. I joke that we should just velcro it to my socket set because I almost always use both together. It is easy to adjust the size of the crescent, which can be faster than finding the right socket if you want to use this wrench by itself. As pictured above, it's great to use with a socket where the ratcheting socket allows for easy motion and the crescent wrench holds the other nut in place. This model is a good size for average home repairs. It is big enough and solid enough to be durable, without being an overkill. The plastic coating really does add a level of comfort, too. We have a dozen random crescent wrenches, and this is the one I am most likely to pick up.
It might not be fancy or expensive, but this tool is a basic necessity and would make a great stocking stuffer for a new home owner! Even if someone has one already, a few extras in cars or storm shelters is never a bad idea.
